Qualification project for selected equipment of the Dukovany 1 reactor unit

All nuclear reactor components have to be described and qualified in order to document the ability of all reactor facilities to satisfy all of the required safety functions. Stage 1 of the qualification programme involves a list of selected facilities, methodology for the various qualification activities and tests, tentative time behavior of parameters of the environment within and outside the hermetic zone, and extent of qualification of the facilities. The document encompasses the active mechanical elements, electrical elements, and the instrumentation and control system, as well as conditions which can establish during LOCA or high-energy rupture type accidents. A seismic qualification of the above elements as well as of the civil engineering structures was also performed
