Description

The invention provides an elution column for the production of a radioactive isotope by elution from the column. The column is housed in a passage defined in an elongated housing and comprises a sorbent material. The sorbent material has a first zone spaced along the length of the column from one end of the column by a further zone of sorbent material. The one end of the column constitutes the outlet end of the column and the further zone has a higher sorptive capacity for a radioactive precursor of a radioactive isotope to be produced, than the first zone
