Study on associative multiplicity in anti pp → p(slow)+X reaction at 22.4 GeV/c

Description
The results of studies of the anti pp → p(slow)+X reaction at 22.4 GeV/c of an incident antiproton are presented. Slow protons with the momentum up to 1.5 GeV/c have been identified by ionization. 5600 events have been chosen from the statistics of 21000 anti pp interactions. The behaviour of associative multiplicity as a function of the missing mass Msub(x)sup(2) to an identified proton is studied. It has been shown that the behaviour of associative multiplicity for diffraction and nondiffraction events may differ. In the framework of the two-component model the behaviour of the ratio /D as a functions of Msub(x)sup(2) is explained. The KNO scaling analog in the X system is obtained for all the values of M2 by applying the scale variable. Similitude of the anti pp d p(slow)+X and pp → p(slow)+X reactions observed is
