MOX condeposition experiment of oxide electrowinning process
Description
A technique of MOX electro-condeposition of mixed uranium and plutonium oxides at the cathode in pyro-reprocessing of oxide fuels is noticed from a political view-point of nuclear non-proliferation, and also from a technical view-point of production process for low decontaminated fuel. Here, feasibility studies of MOX electro-condeposition technique are performed; one is MOX condeposition tests in molten salt NaCl-2CsCl with addition of Ce, and another with addition of RE (rare earth elements of Nd, Ce, Sm, Pr, La) and CP (corrosion products Fe, Cr) are executed. And effects of impurity elements on current efficiency are discussed based on the results. (A. Hishinuma)
