The new geopolitical and economic stakes of energy cooperation between the EU and Russia. Second part: A geopolitical analysis of energetic issues. Report for the French Council of Energy
Description
The objective of this second part of a study is to show how geopolitics enables the analysis of complex energy issues. In the first part, the author first identifies the main theoretical influences, and tries to define a geopolitical methodology which could be applied to energy issues. Then, she implements the previously identified elements, and proposes a geopolitical analysis of the Russian energy sector as a whole. Appendices shows how this geopolitical method can be applied to other case studies such as the recent developments of the oil-gas sector in Kazakhstan, or the consequences of the shutting down of the Ignalina plant in Lithuania.
