Description
In this paper, the authors describe several new diagnostic methods that have developed for measuring the time resolved emittance and energy of intense relativistic electron beams. These methods are based on the observation of optical transition radiation (OTR) produced by the beam as it transits one or two thin foils. These techniques are capable of spanning several orders of magnitude in emittance, high power applications such as the free electron laser
