Foodchain model intercomparisons

  • 1. National Radiological Protection Board, Chilton (UK)

Description

A summary is given of an intercomparison of two dynamic terrestrial foodchain models, the German ECOSYS and the British NRPB models used for predicting the concentrations of radionuclides in foods following accidental and routine releases of radioactive materials to the atmosphere. A summary is also given of an intercomparison of other dynamic terrestrial foodchain models developed in the UK with the NRPB model. It is concluded that agreement between dynamic foodchain models is generally reasonable. (UK)
