Disposal of low-level radioactive waste from a fuel storage basin
Description
Contamination of the water in the ICPP fuel storage basin has occurred and various methods of coping with it have been tried. Ion exchange, first after and then before ground release, was used initially, but it was found necessary to remove the leaking stainless steel fuel in order to lower the radioactivity to approx. 10-3μCi/mL
