An experiment of the turbulent diffusion of the magnetized positive column
Creators

Description
The stabilization of the magnetized positive column and the decrease of anomalously rapid diffusion is expected by a calculation extended from B.B. Kadomtsev's theory, when the azimuthal component of the electric field is suppressed by using the partially conducting wall. A qualitative agreement is found between the experiment and the theory. The longitudinal electric field measured in the experiment in the case without the conducting wall is also compared with the turbulent diffusion theory given by B.B. Kadomtsev with in good agreement.
