Beam diagnostics for the Ebis ion source at Saturne

Description
In connection with the Ebis ion source program at Saturne, diagnostics for low intensity and low energy ion beams have been developed. For intensities above 100 nA, beam profiles are provided by detectors made of printed alumina plates. Small current transformers located in the vacuum chamber allow the simultaneous observation of the total beam and of the time of flight spectrum. The residual noise of these transformers corresponds to 1 μA of beam. (orig.)
