Description

Superconductivity can be applied to various fields in electronics. Its applications include voltage standard systems, digital circuits, band-pass filters for communication systems, and various highly sensitive sensors, such as a magnetic sensor. In this paper, how these applications have progressed and what directions they are aiming at are reviewed. It was in the middle of 1970s when the research on superconductive electronics started in Japan. A brief history of superconductive electronics is also described. (author)
