Radiation burden in planned use of ionizing radiation sources

From 1960, personnel exposure at X-ray departments was measured using ionization chambers. Since 1963 when film dosimetry was introduced, the number of monitored personnel handling ionizing radiation has been growing. The introduction is described of personnel dosimetry in radiotherapy, radiodiagnosis and crack detection departments and in the nuclear power plants at Jaslovske Bohunice. The dose equivalents measured for personnel of these departments in the years 1970-1984 are tabulated. In cases of overexposure or single nonuniform exposure, physical measurements were completed with an examination of the chromosome count of peripheral lymphocytes. (E.S.)
