A simple facility for the aseptic preparation of 111In-labelled leucocytes
- 1. Kent and Canterbury Hospital (UK)
Description
The sterility of the procedure for labelling leucocytes with 111In oxine for diagnostic scanning purposes was assessed using a simple existing facility, i.e. an enclosed Perspex box. All manipulations of the blood were performed in the box via two open ports through which the operator's gloved hands and forearms were inserted. It was concluded that this simple facility, coupled with a strict aseptic technique, provided an acceptable standard of asepsis for the labelling of leucocytes with 111In oxine. (U.K.)
