Description
The mean lifetimes of the S states of tauonium are much longer than the mean life of a single heavy lepton tau. We conclude that it is extremely unlikely to detect tauonium by means of x-ray emission of its excited states. Therefore, the electromagnetic bound state of heavy leptons is very difficult to observe by present experimental means
