Precision tests of the electroweak gauge theory

Creators

Description

The current status of electroweak measurements and related theoretical developments is presented, mainly reflecting updates and new results obtained during the past one year. Fits to all the electroweak data within the framework of the standard model are given demonstrating the internal consistency of the standard model and predictions for the Higgs mass. The overall conclusion is that the standard model describes the precision data well and the predicted mass of the Higgs continues to be low. Finally the short and long term outlook in this area is presented. (author)
