Influence of direction of α reversible γ transformation on creep in polycrystalline iron

Description

Investigated is the creep of iron wires under thermal cycling within the 860-960 deg C range, including α-γ-transformation temperature. Specific loadings from 5x106 to 3x107 din/cm2 and cycle duration from 24 sec to 1.2x1030 sec have been varied. The asymmetric effect of α reversible γ transformation on the iron creep is found. The possible mechanism is discussed
