Future Nuclear Projects - The Priority Investment List Of The European Committee

Large nuclear power projects were included in the list of priority investments with possible financing from the investment plan with Eur 315 billion budget during the next three years, said Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission. Projects on the list prepared by the EC work group and member countries include three new nuclear power plants in Great Britain (Hinkley Point C, Moorside and Wylfa), and the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Poland. The list says that new nuclear constructions face problems with growing debts due to high construction costs and long return periods. A possible solution includes EIB debt warranties of warranties for investors and suppliers.
