A four-color surface photometry of Markarian galaxies

The results are presented of UBVR surface photometry of galaxies with an ultraviolet continuum Markarian 11,12, and 13. The integral brightnesses and colours of the galaxies are determined. The U-B colour indices are lower in the nucleus portions than in the external regions of the corresponding galaxies. This is also true of B-V for Markarian 11 and 13. At the same time, the V-R colour indices increase toward the centre of the last two galaxies. In Markarian 12, both B-V and V-R remain constant throughout the galaxy. In the case of Markarian 11 the B-V colour index reduces with increasing V-R. Only an insignificant fraction of the integral radiations of the galaxies Markarian 11,12, and 13 is due to areas located, with respect to their U-B and B-V colours, above the absolutely black body line in the diagrams (U-B, B-V). The nuclei of all the three galaxies are situated below this line
