The dual absorptive model and elastic hadronic scattering at high energies and small momentum transfers

Description

An attempt has been made to assess the status of Harari's Dual Absorptive Model (DAM) in regard to elastic hadronic scattering at high energies and small momentum transfers by parameterising the scattering amplitudes for several elastic reactions using the DAM rules, and some standard phenomenological assumptions, and then trying to fit data using these amplitudes. The reactions considered are πsup(+-)p → πsup(+-)p Ksup(+-)p → Ksup(+-)p, pp → pp, np → np and antipp → antipp. The data has been considered for each reaction from psub(lab) >is approximately equal to 10 GeV/c up to the highest energy at which data is available.
