Study of the structure of free radicals in irradiated single crystals of acetyl-l-leucine

Description
Radicals arising in irradiated single crystals of acetyl-L-leucine were investigated by the ESR method at room temperature. It was established that radicals are formed as a result of stripping of hydrogen atoms from the tertiary and α-carbon atoms; moreover, the radicals of the latter type are more stable. Calculations within the framework of the INDO method confirmed the correctness of the conclusions
