Compression experiments of neon-filled glass microballons irradiated by two 1.06 μm laser beams

  • 1. Southwest Inst. of Nuclear Physics and Chemistry, Chengdu, SC (China)

Description

The compression experiments with neon-filled microballoons were performed by using Shenguang (1012 W) neodymium glass laser facility. The results showed that the laser-driven implosion compression ratio was about 70, the electron density reached 1023 cm-3, the averaged implosion velocity was about 3.3 x 107 cm/s
