Three hundred years of the Newton's ''principia'' - three hundred years of investigations of the Halley's comet motion
Description
The discovery of comet Halley was a spectacular confirmation not only of conjecture which revolutionized the cometary astronomy but also of Newton's theory of gravitation. Newtonian mechanics is a base of all investigations into the comet Halley's motion up to now. Short review of the main works devoted to the modelling of the long-term motion of this comet as well as discussion of their results are presented. 17 refs., 2 tabs. (author)
