Description
This chapter overview the prospect of important research activities on in-vessel components (blanket and divertor), interactions between plasma and surfaces of plasma facing materials and peripheral fusion engineering technologies, by using JT-60SA. Fusion reactor requires endurance of the machine in the severest environment. JT-60SA is the frontier tokamak experimental reactor to support ITER and investigate the feasibility of DEMO fusion reactor. Therefore, the machine of JT-60SA consists of innovative newest technologies. Furthermore, JT-60SA offers the DEMO relevant testing environment to the in-vessel components and plasma facing materials. This chapter shows that such indispensable testing environment must be fully utilized for the technology development for the development of DEMO reactor. (J.P.N.)
