Description
Luojin Site of Shanghai Municipal Radioactive Wastes Disposal Experimentation Center is involved in the treatment of low-level radioactive wastes coming from Shanghai city. The combustible wastes are burnt to ashes and solidified before disposal. Liquid wastes are treated with different types of separation filters to remove most of the radioactive isotopes. Contaminated materials are decontaminated using ultrasonic unit and the waste produced due to the treatment are disposed off according to national regulations. A reinforced concrete building is used for monitored storage of these wastes. 4 figs
