Radiosensitivity of plants at different stages of ontogenesis
Description
Results of a vegetation trial with ''Moskovsky 121'' barley are presented. The plants received doses of 1300 rad at various times during their individual development. Sterility, spike length and density, number of grains in the main spike, weight of grain in the main spike and lateral spikes, yield and general fruticosity, plant height and 1000-grain weight were considered. For individual characters, the period of enhanced radiosensitivity was shown to coincide with their formation time in ontogenesis
