Muon and neutrino production in proton-12C scattering
Description
The cross section for the reactin p+12C→13C+μ++ν is calculated for center of mass proton energies from 1060 MeV. to 1080 MeV. by the use of experimental data for the p+12C→13C+π+ and p+12C→γ+13N reactions. Preliminary calculations for the inclusive reaction p+12C→μ++ν+X are discussed. A possible role of these processes in studying the contributions of anomalous threshold states in nuclear PCAC is also discussed
