Detection and measure of nuclear radiations
Description
The detection and the measure of nuclear radiations is a big and often difficult problem to which we are confronted in all the analysis nuclear methods. The choice of the detector depends of the measure object (counting, energy measure, time measure, positioning..), of the radiation type and its energy. In this work, the different existing detectors are classified according to the type of spectroscopy which uses it. The first part is devoted to generalities essential to the understanding of the detectors running. The second part is reserved to the detailed description of the detectors the most often used for the measure of alpha particles, electrons, photons and neutrons. In the third part, a brief description of the main electronic modules which constitute the analysis chain is given. The author stresses particularly on their function which allows to better choose the necessary modules among the wide choice proposed by the different manufacturers. (O.M.). 19 figs., 4 tabs
