Analysis of rapid transient processes in the polish MP-type research reactor
Description
The pointwise program TOTEM, developed for the purpose of performing safety analysis on the Maryland research reactor, makes it possible to calculate the axial and radial temperature distributions for a fuel assembly at average power and reactivity, taking into account the feedback and the calculated changes in power. The program has been partially verified experimentally. This paper provides further experimental verification for the program by an investigation of the spatial dependence of the neutron flux density and the change in coolant temperature in an operating reactor channel during a rapidly occurring transient
