Description

The safety of the French nuclear reactors is based on determinist studies. The probabilistic studies of safety allow to complete the classical determinist analysis with a particular method of investigation. The probabilistic studies of safety are an evaluation method of risks based on a systematic investigation of accidental scenarios. They are composed of a whole of technical analysis allowing to estimate the risks linked to nuclear installations in term of frequency of accidental events and their consequences. (N.C.)
