Multiplicity of γ-quanta in 235U fission by resonance neutrons

Description

The probability of the (n,γf) process on 235U is studied. Investigations are performed using a neutron time-of-flight spectrometer with a resolution of 8 ns/m. Use has been made of the method of multiplicity of fission γ-quanta. The energy of resonance neutrons is 6 to 130 eV. An analysis of variations of the γ-quantum yields for various resonances and energy ranges has not revealed any considerable deviations from the mean value, within the limits of accuracy. The data on the numbers of secondary neutrons and gamma-quanta for individual resonances and energy ranges are correlated rather weakly
