Granular behaviour of electrophoretic YBa2Cu3O7-x coatings

Description
The microwave properties of granular YBa2Cu3O7-x layers deposited electrophoretically onto silver substrates have been investigated at 21.5 GHz. The sensitivity of the surface impedance Zs on dc magnetic fields as well as the observed temperature and frequency dependence result from grain-boundary Josephson junctions. The increase of Zs in elevated microwave surface fields appears to be caused by a hysteretic mechanism. (orig.)
