Description

In the statement circulated on the coordination of national research in the detection and assessment of uranium and plutonium in the whole body, I have indicated that our operational programme, can be classed into the following: a) demographic investigations to anticipate body burden build-up under conditions of different environment, b) assessment by excretion analyses and c) assessment by in-vivo counting. The present note is an attempt to exemplify these efforts by some of the investigations that are in progress and the instruments that have been developed for assessment of uranium, plutonium and daughters in the human body.
