Description

We report on micro-photoluminescence (μ-PL) measurements of CdTe/ZnTe self-assembled quantum dots. Jumps in the line positions are observed and attributed to fluctuations of local electrostatic environment. We find that fine structures of exciton, biexciton and charged exciton originating from the same QD are correlated with line positions. We observe stronger influence of the field on the excitonic states of lower binding energy. The local field likely originates from charges localized at defects in the close vicinity of the QD, and correlations indicate that its direction is not completely random.
