Isobars and isobaric analog states
Description
A formalism for the coherent production of isobars in the periphery of a relativistic heavy ion projectile is generalized to include isobaric spin so that concomitant excitations of the target to isobar analog giant resonances may be realized. The effects of the finite isobar decay width on the total cross section is investigated
