Extraction of iodine from irradiated uranyl nitrate samples
Description
By use of dibenzo-18-crown-6 in o-dichlorobenzene 131I is separated with high separation factors from irradiated UO2(NO3)2 . 6H2O samples dissolved in HCl and HF solutions. Extraction experiments with Na125I revealed that the distribution coefficient varies with the crown cavity size, substitutions, type of the donor atom and the organic solvent. The UV-spectra and the slope analysis suggested the extraction of [H+DB18C6][I2Cl-] and [H+DB18C6][ICl2-] complexes. (orig.)
