Description

The pathophysiological course of inflammatory processes in the bone is briefly explained, and their characteristics in contrast to inflammations in other type of tissue are shown. The author explains the principles of scintigraphic detection of inflammatory bone processes and lists the diagnostic methods as well as the relevant radiopharmaceuticals. Various problems encountered with the different techniques are discussed and recommendations are given for reducing their effects. (MG)

Es wird kurz der pathophysiologische Ablauf von Entzuendungen am Knochen geschildert und auf die Besonderheiten gegenueber Entzuendungen in anderen Geweben hingewiesen. Die Grundlagen des scintigraphischen Entzuendungsnachweises am Knochen werden aufgelistet sowie die Nachweismethoden selbst und die dabei verwendeten Radiopharmaka beschrieben. Die methodischen Probleme werden aufgezeigt und Empfehlungen zu ihrer Reduzierung gegeben. (MG)
