Optimization of activation analysis

Fundamentals of methods for optimization of activation analysis (AA) are stated. Criteria and derivation of main formulae for an optimization functional are considered with regard to analysis accuracy, detection and determination limits, sensitivity and expressiveness of the technique chosen. A key diagram for chosing the concrete optimal AA technique and it mathematical algorithm are given. Particular cases are considered optimizing since AA processes, including the selection of optimal bombarding particle sources, conditions for irradiation and measurement. EXamples and recommendations for application of the methods considered to solve analytical problems are given
