Description

The design criteria for the accumulator RF cavity of the Frascati 510 MeV Φ-Factory DAΦNE are discussed. Particular care was given to defining the cavity geometry in order not to have resonant electron loading. Other important engineering aspects, such as cooling and thermal effects, are outlined. The possibility of damping the parasitic cavity modes is investigated and the preliminary RF tests on a copper prototype are presented. (author) 5 refs.; 6 figs.; 3 tabs
