Description
Experiment S-133 on board the ESRO satellite TD-1 has observed the sky for high-energy (>=30 MeV) gamma rays for a total period of about one year. To date, 30-40% of the data have been analyzed and they have begun to reveal the gamma-ray emission features of our Galaxy. In the course of this analysis, several problems connected with the background and the automatic scanning and processing of data telemetred from the spark chamber had to be overcome. Some of the experience solving the problems encountered in spark-chamber gamma-ray telescopes are briefly discussed
