7.2. Determination of inaccuracies in dosimetric measurement evaluation

Description

Errors in dosimetric measurements are divided into random, systematic and gross errors. Relations are given for normal distribution, experimenal spread of values and standard deviation. Inaccuracy in measurement is divided into random and systematic. Great attention is devoted to the systematic component of inaccuracy and to the degree of reliability. A procedure is suggested for determining the inaccuracies of individual dosimetric measurements. Tabulated are sources of inaccuracy for several dosimetric determinations. Data on the inaccuracy of calibration measurements are listed which should be included in any protocol on calibration. In case of routine measurements, the value of total inaccuracy at a certain interval of reliability suffices. (E.S.)
