Dosimetric properties of the bulk detectors fabricated from tellurium dioxide single crystals (DTO effect)
Creators
Description
The results of studies on the application possibilities of tellurium dioxide single crystals in gamma radiation exposure dose rate and in the fast neutron dose measurements have been presented. The technology of the bulk detectors for gamma radiation and neutrons has been discussed. It has been shown that the investigated DTO detectors reveal the sufficient voltage yield relative to the gamma radiation photons emitted by cobalt-60 and cesium-137 and relative to the fast neutrons having the mean energy E=5.5 MeV. The essential influence of temperature on the voltage yield of DTO detectors and the output voltage dependence on the detector operation temperature were stated. 6 figs., 5 tabs., 14 refs. (author)
