The Czechoslovak nuclear industry in the First Atomic Age

Description
The situation of the Czechoslovak nuclear industry in the 1950s and 1960s is described, and experience gained during the construction of the first Czechoslovak nuclear power plant, the Jaslovske Bohunice A-1 NPP, is outlined. The development of the Czechoslovak nuclear industry is highlighted with emphasis on the later adoption of the WWER design. Attention is also paid to the economic aspects and nuclear safety issues.
