Description

Fourteen patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) were treated with 3-D boost conformal radiotherapy (CRT). All patients were delivered with 2-D conventional radiotherapy (40 Gy/20 Fr-50 Gy/25 Fr). Boost dose in the range from 18 Gy/3 Fr to 24 Gy/4 Fr were irradiated with 3-D static CRT. Only one patient had local recurrence within a boost field. Four patients had severe radiation fibrosis within boost fields, but who had no complaint. In conclusion, 3-D boost CRT for NSCLC appeared to be effective and well tolerated. The optimal dose, fractions and radiation fields should be further explored. (author)
