Growth of density perturbations in an open universe
Description
The evolution of density perturbations in an open universe permeated with microwave background radiation and massless, weakly interacting particles is calculated numerically. For low baryon densities Ω/sub b/<0.3, the prevailing theory wherein galaxies would develop from primordial adiabatic or entropic density perturbations is shown to contravene the available observational evidence
