Introduction of control system tool kit EPICS to small-scale accelerator facilities

Description
Control system tool kit EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System) developed for controlling large-scale accelerators has been employed in many accelerator facilities all over the world including KEKB. Introduction of the EPICS has been so far limited to large-scale accelerator facilities. The newest version EPICS 3.14 has been improved to correspond to many platforms including Linux and also to facilitate download easily. As a result the EPICS system can now be introduced to small-scale accelerator facilities as well with reasonable cost. The latest trend of the development of EPICS and the outline of a small-scale EPIC package 'mini EPICS' which is under development at KEK are described. (author)
