Description

The extraction kinetics of zirconium and hafnium from the mixtures of diisobutyl ketone (DIBK) and di-(1-methyl-heptyl) methyl phosphonate (P350) were studied by using a Lewis cell. The results show that the extraction of zirconium and hafnium fit with pseudo-first order reaction, and the extraction kinetic of zirconium is governed by chemical reactions at bulk phase with activation energy (Ea,Zr) of -10.412 kJ/mol, while for hafnium, it is proved to be controlled by mixed-control, whose activation energy (Ea,Hf) is calculated to be -34.362 kJ/mol.
