Preliminary opinion on the radiological situation of the Fort d'Aubervilliers. Mission performed by the CRIIRAD laboratory to the request of Hygiene-Health Department of the Aubervilliers city - Report N. 06-06

After a recall of the request made by the Aubervilliers city regarding the possible presence of gamma radiation and, more generally, the radioactive situation of the Fort d'Aubervilliers, this report proposes a brief description of documents accessed in the Prefecture and of information they contain (radionuclides and other substances which have been handled in the site, initial identification of areas contaminated by radionuclides according to controls performed in 1994 and in 1995, discussion of the decontamination progress and identification of other areas, discussion of the situation after 2001, and remarks on chemical pollution). It reports and discusses radiometric measurements performed by the Criirad during a visit of the site. It also states recommendations regarding the decontamination process, radiological controls on risky areas, the necessity of conduction an expertise on the whole site, and the organisation of future works
