Superheating and instability in case of potassium boiling in tubes

  • 1. Dnepropetrovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

Potassium overheating and the temperature regime in the steam-generating channel in the boiling zone were studied on the equipment with forced potassium circulation. Data on over-heating were obtained from temperature diagrams of the wall at the exit from the steamgenerating channel. The causes of instability of the boiling cross-section position in the channel are described. It is found that stable functioning of potassium steam generating channel can be provided by the reduction of masimum overheating of potassium at the surface down the stream from the nominal position of the boiling cross-section and the increase in the minimum overheating at the area before the nominal position
