Radiation copolymerization of 2-hydroxy-3-butoxypropyl acrylate with 2-hydroxy-3-tolyloxypropyl acrylate in ethanol solution

Description

Radiation copolymerization of β-oxyethylacrylate manomer derivatives differing by substitutes in ester group is studied. Radiation treatment of ethanol solutions with summary monomer concentration of 2 mol/l was performed using 60Co γ-radiation at K-120000 device under 0.56 kJy/s dose rate in the absorbed dose interval of 0.075-8kJy, in argon atmosphere at the room temperature. For all the alloys investigated antibate dose dependences of the copolymer yield and content of residual 2-hydroxy-3-tolyloxypropyl acrylate in a monomeric mixture are ascertained. Copolymerization constant values point out to a comparable monomer activity in the reaction investigated
