Preparation and structure of lanthanide-oxide phosphates
Description
Compounds of the type LaPO4, La2O3 and GdPO4. Gd2O3 (Gd3PO7) were prepared and investigated by X-ray powder diffraction methods. They were synthesised at 9600C by a solid-state reaction between LnPO4 and Ln2O3(Ln=La or Gd). The X-ray diffraction data for Gd3PO7 was indexed in the orthorhombic system with the unit-cell dimensions a=11.35, b=7.95 and c=8.80 A
